Lauren is passionate about taking a collaborative and proactive approach during her counseling sessions with her clients.  She is willing to take the time to ensure that clients are obtaining the skills and support necessary to reach their desired goals from counseling.  Each client brings with them their own unique experiences and goals; therefore, Lauren will utilize various clinical techniques to help bring about the desired outcomes for each individual client.  She strives to create a safe, non-judgmental space for all of her clients to explore a variety of topics. 

Lauren earned her BA in Psychology from Winona State University in 2004.  She went on to earn her MA in Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2007.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. 

Lauren has experience working with children, adolescents, adult individuals, couples, families, and group counseling.  She has worked with clients of various backgrounds in a variety of settings, including police departments, court houses, residential treatment centers, non- profit counseling center, schools, and in private practice.   

Lauren is a Level 1 Gottman trained therapist for working with couples seeking relationship counseling.  She also is a SPARCS certified therapist able to provide counseling for adolescents dealing with trauma or chronic stress.  She uses a variety of evidence based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness.  For children and adolescent clients, she will utilize some play and art therapy techniques to assist in the therapeutic process.
